The Division of Infectious Disease and Global Medicine selects Fellows based on their academic achievement, personal qualities, and ability to excel in the rigors of medical education. Fellows are accepted as categorical fellows with the intent that these fellows will complete the program, assuming their performance is satisfactory.
- Applicants should apply to the Fellowship Program via the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).

- All applicants should be board-certified or board-eligible and have completed 3 years of Internal Medicine Residency at an accredited institution.
- At this time, only candidates who have completed an ACGME or ACGME-I accredited Internal Medicine Residency program are eligible to MATCH with us.
- You may apply for MATCH with our program if you are seeking, or currently hold, a J-1 Visa.
Required Documents
The following documents must be submitted electronically in ERAS to be considered for an interview:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Personal Statement
- (3) Letters of Recommendations
- Medical School Transcripts
- USMLE Scores – Step 1 and 2 (Must pass Step 3 prior to starting Fellowship)
- ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
- Recent Headshot or Photograph
MATCH Timeline
- JULY – Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
- AUGUST – ERAS Applications are accepted and reviewed by program leadership..
- SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER – Virtual interviews are held for applicants to learn more about the program.
- NOVEMBER – Programs and applicants rank through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
- DECEMBER – Fellows MATCH into program.
Once MATCH rankings are released, candidates who matched are welcome to visit us in-person for a “second look” at our program and campus.
