I am thrilled to announce a significant achievement by our Infectious Disease Research Team. In July our team of researchers successfully obtained national certification as Phlebotomy Technicians! Making them the only research team at University of Florida where every staff member holds this certification.
This certification in phlebotomy will elevate their research operations by enabling them to independently collect the necessary samples for their studies. They are excited to take on this responsibility and relieve the clinical nursing and support staff from assisting with these tasks.
With their proficiency in phlebotomy, they will expedite sample collection processes, leading to reduced opportunities for adverse events and accelerate research outcomes. This achievement showcases their team’s commitment to excellence and their dedication to advancing Infectious Disease research.
